Most of what I build runs unattended in production — dispatch automation, OCR pipelines, a live SaaS with paying users. These are the decisions that keep them steady as the work grows.

Services stay stateless and talk to each other through queues, so adding capacity is a configuration change rather than a rewrite.
Efficient and fast
Every endpoint gets a latency budget. Hot paths are cached, heavy work moves off the request, and slow queries get found before users notice them.
Reliable
Timeouts, backpressure, retries and circuit breakers. When one dependency slows down, the rest of the system degrades quietly instead of falling over.
Cheap to run
Efficiency shows up on the cloud bill. Right-sized instances, autoscaling for peaks, and metrics and alerts that let problems be diagnosed instead of guessed at.
